The SBBA is once again sponsoring the annual Apollo High School Mock Trial competition on December 19, 2020 and volunteers are needed to serve as judges for the event. This year the tournament will be held via Zoom. This event will be a great opportunity for teams to get use to the new virtual format before the Regional competitions beginning in January, and the best part is that you can participate from the comfort of your living room!
Volunteers can sign up to judge Round 1 (9:00am); Round 2 (11:45 am) or both. No experience is necessary. For those interested in learning more, training and case materials are available for review HERE. An optional judges training session is also being held on December 11, 2020 from 3pm – 4:30pm (1.5 CLE credits applied for.)
This year’s case is a timely fact pattern involving a local hockey star, a dream wedding cancelled due to COVID-19, and claims and cross claims against and by the wedding venue that was unable to host the event.
If you are able to help with this year’s event or if you have any questions, please contact Dyan Ebert (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Judge Laura Moehrle (email@example.com).
